Update: So I've worked on him a bit and decided to use sculpy firm on some parts that have decided to give me some difficulty. I can't wait untill he's done so I can spray him a nice deep shiney black. :)

Finished! Here he is after I bulked him up a little and gave him his black scales. :) :

Temeraire belongs to author Naomi Novik.
art belongs to me.

Any suggestions for a beginning sculptor? I hope to someday get better details into my sculptures, I'm trying to make a figure of one of my dragon drawings (with more detail I hope!) and any tips would be appreciated ;)

I guess the best advice I could give is not to be afraid to go back and redo something that isn't working. Planning helps, also (something I'm working on) the discipline to set a schedule and really do some work....

I'm not sure how much clay I used. Maybe two sculpey bricks? His wire and foil armature makes him lighter that he appears. :)

Thank you! It is made from polymer clay. I don't know what they have in Poland, but the brand is Super Sculpey. Which you might be able to buy online.
